‘Me, Julia Roberts’ was shot as an interview based on real events that happened in the main character’s life. Julia is a transgender woman and sex-worker. Everything takes place in St Petersburg in 2015. After the directors’ numerous futile attempts to draw attention of the press and law enforcement forces to what happened, it turns out that the territory of modern art is the only possible place to cover events.
The video was presented in 2016, at the ‘Trans-people. The no-safety state’ exhibition at Yermilov Centre, Kharkov.
